Terms of Service.
These Terms govern the RecommendLess website, browser extension, licensing service, and related support (the “Service”). By installing, purchasing, or using the Service, you agree to them.
Who provides the Service
RecommendLess is supplied by GrumpyOats FZ-LLC, a Free Zone Limited Liability Company registered with Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone under services licence 47008339.
Registered business address: SFFO0121, Compass Building, Al Shohada Road, Al Hamra Industrial Zone-FZ, Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates.
Using RecommendLess
You must be legally able to enter into a binding contract, or have permission from a parent or legal guardian. If you use the Service for an organisation, you confirm that you can bind it to these Terms.
While your Trial or subscription is active, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the extension on browsers and devices you control. RecommendLess enables a recommended set of blocks for distracting feeds and recommendations while keeping specified intentional-use parts available. You can adjust named blocks separately for each supported Site; turning a block on is immediate, while turning one off requires a 20-second wait followed by an explicit Stop block action.
Trial and subscription
The Trial is intended for new customers. The Service limits each installation to one 14-day free Trial, and Paddle may apply additional eligibility controls. The yearly subscription starts charging at the price shown at checkout when the Trial ends, unless you cancel first. It then renews automatically each year until cancelled.
Prices, taxes, billing frequency, and the next charge date are shown before you confirm the order. Deleting the extension does not cancel a subscription.
Orders, cancellation, and refunds
Our order process is conducted by our authorised online reseller, Paddle.com. Paddle is the merchant of record for all orders and handles payment processing, taxes, invoices, payment-related support, and returns. Your purchase transaction is also subject to Paddle’s Buyer Terms.
You may cancel at any time through the customer portal linked from your Paddle receipt or the RecommendLess License desk. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Refunds are addressed in our refund terms and remain subject to any mandatory rights you have under applicable law.
License keys
Your License key is a bearer credential. Keep it confidential and do not publish, sell, or share it outside the person or organisation that purchased it. Contact [email protected] if you believe a key has been compromised. We may replace or deactivate a compromised or abused key.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the Service. In particular, do not:
- circumvent Trial, licensing, security, or rate-limit controls;
- resell, sublicense, or distribute the Service or a License key;
- probe or disrupt the Service, or automate requests in a way that burdens it;
- reverse engineer or modify the Service except where applicable law expressly permits it; or
- use the Service unlawfully or to infringe another person’s rights.
Third-party websites
RecommendLess operates on websites we do not own or control. Those websites may change without notice, which can temporarily affect blocking or compatibility. We do not promise that every unwanted part will always be detected or that every supported website will remain compatible.
RecommendLess is not affiliated with the supported websites, and your use of them remains subject to their terms. The Service is an attention-management tool, not medical advice or treatment.
Ownership and updates
We and our licensors retain all rights in the Service, including its software, design, and branding. These Terms give you permission to use the Service, not ownership of it. Third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners.
We may update the Service, supported websites, and blocking behavior to maintain or improve the product. We may suspend or end access where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, non-payment, or a material breach of these Terms.
Warranties and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted operation.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss. Our total liability arising from the Service will not exceed the amount you paid for RecommendLess in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when the Service or legal requirements change. We will post the revised version here and change the effective date. If a change materially affects an active subscription, we will provide additional notice where required by law. You may stop using the Service and cancel before the change takes effect.
Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates and the applicable laws of Ras Al Khaimah. The competent courts of Ras Al Khaimah have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law gives you rights or a forum in the country where you live.
Questions about these Terms may be sent to [email protected] or mailed to our registered business address above.
